OUR JOURNEY

ido memorial logo.png

IDO Segev was one of IMAC Israel's founders. A family man, a partner, a friend, an Aviator!

Since he was a young child his passion for aviation was very obvious. After winning a major freestyle contest in Israel back in 2005 his flights sequences became a legend.

In 2007 he was first competing in an international contest, The American XFC where he won the 5th place. In 2009 he competed in the USA XFC winging 3rd and the Czech EXFC winning 2nd place. Eventually in 2011 he won the 1st place in the Czech EXFC.

By that time, he went to Australia to have his flight permit and became a flight instructor and a full-scale aerobatic pilot. Once in a while he participated in big RC events in Japan, China and more.

He then got an Australian citizenship and started his new life in Australia with his fiancé Brie.

On February the 19th 2020 our beloved Ido died in a tragic plane accident in Australia.

This event is a brainchild idea to commemorate Ido's legacy throughout the world as one of the best RC freestyle pilots in the world of scale aerobatic, and to tell his wonderful story for generations to come as a true aviator, friend and beloved son and brother.

Ido survived his father Zvika, his mother Ilana, his brother Yonatan and sister Inbal.

Blue Skies Ido, Forever our wingman!

IMAC Israel is an official representative of the international IMAC Club located in the USA.

We are a SIG in the Israeli Aeroclub organization for remote control giant scale aerobatic planes.

It being said we organize and perform nationwide IMAC contests, Fly fests, events and flying schools.

We run 6 contests a year, so every pilot will have the ability to join us.

All IMAC contests are very challenging and fun, and in the end, it will make each and every one of you a better person and pilot.

Our 3 mottos are, Fellowship, Ambition and Experience.

IMAC is a school, we contribute to the community as a practical and feasible community base structure, where everyone can come and learn how to become a better pilot. The IMAC League in Israel is not just a place for competitions but also a place where you can find good friends to fly with. This competition just shows what we're striving to do, to create a generation of young kids flying RC planes as a force of habit. The path they took to learning good habits will eventually make them much better pilots in the future.

The Aero Club of Israel (ACI) is a non-profit organization, which today is the center of sports aviation in Israel.
The Aero Club of Israel, established in 1933 as "The flying camel club" and it's one of the builders of the civil and military aviation infrastructure in Israel.

Generations of young men and women who started their aviation careers at the club, went on to join the Air Force and the national airline "El-Al" or became aeronautical engineers in the industry.
Before Israel was born, the aeroclub was actually used as the air force of the "Haganah" and the "Palmach".
Since 1951, the Aeroclub of Israel is a member of the International Federation of Aeronautics (FAI).

Joining the FAI and being the official representative in Israel is a recognition of the club as an institution responsible for aviation sports in Israel and representing it in the world.
Over the years, the Israeli competitors made their names for themselves as top aviators, bringing home medals yearly, in the different categories of Aeromodelling.
In 2008, IMAC is presented for the first time in Israel. 2010 – first IMAC competition in Israel. Since then – this division has grown, and attracts many talented pilots.

Israel is well known for its young pilots, who demonstrates international level of flying in a very young age.
There are about 17 ACI branched clubs in Israel, where young aviators learn how to build and fly their models, participate in local and international competitions which they go through a high-level of theoretical classis such as, aerodynamics, physics, structure and material strength and more...
In the Aeroclub of Israel, it is all about the passion! We love it; We Live it.
